The International Peace Alliance | Alliance Internationale de la Paix (IPA | AIP) is an international umbrella peace organization created with the goal of fostering global peace. It is a civic and social organization headquartered in Canada and active around the world. Its collective endeavour for peace brings people together to find creative and sustainable paths to peace.
Advancing Multilateral Solutions for a Peaceful Planet
The International Peace Alliance is an independent, non-profit organization working to strengthen inclusive multilateralism for a more peaceful and sustainable planet. Through its programs, research, convening, and strategic advising, IPA provides innovative recommendations, platforms and non-partisan dialogue spaces for opposing parties and for national, regional and international organizations, civil society, and the private sector.
IPA inspires countries and people to work together. We see windows of opportunity to bring together great minds and diverse perspectives from across the globe to find solutions to the world’s most pressing problems, tackling current global challenges and bringing together short term humanitarian responses, long term transformative programming, sectoral multilateral partnerships and policy dialogue, field leverage, as well as alliances with civil society, academia, the private sector, government agencies and other peacebuilding organizations.

The International Peace Alliance (IPA) is dedicated to actively making Peace a lived reality by uniting the strengths of organizations, networks, projects, and people to realize a Culture of Peace. To this purpose, the International Peace Alliance (IPA) serves as an international confederation of peacebuilding organizations that work together with local communities around the world and share knowledge and resources and combine their efforts in the fight against poverty and injustice.
The IPA is also committed to expanding the understanding and expression of Peace and to foster Peacebuilders and Peacebuilding activities by expanding awareness of and engaging in the International Day of Peace (Peace Day), which is held annually on September 21st. The annual highlight of this Culture of Peace Initiative is the IPA’s International Peace Festival, which provides an opportunity for individuals, organizations and nations to work together, on a shared date, to engage in creative acts of Peace with year-round impact.
LAND ACKNOWLEDGMENT
International Peace Alliance | Alliance Internationale De La Paix acknowledges that we are on the traditional territory of many nations including the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishnabeg, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples and is now home to many diverse First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. IPA | AIP also acknowledges that Toronto is covered by Treaty 13 signed with the Mississaugas of the Credit, and the Williams Treaties signed with multiple Mississaugas and Chippewa bands.
