Human Rights in Impact Programs

The International Peace Alliance (IPA) encourages all interventions in countries in conflict, post-conflict and affected by socio-natural disasters to respect the diversity of gender, ethnicity, age, disability, religion, language, nationality and sexual orientation of females subject to violations of their human rights and collaborates with organizations on the national and international level that share and exemplify its vision and aspirations for humanity.

Human Rights in Gender Programs

The IPA champions human rights, including women’s reproductive and sexual health and rights, and the UN’s Free's Equal Campaign to support LGBTI human rights. The IPA’s Human Rights in Gender Program is committed to promote greater understanding of cases involving sexual orientation and gender identity and expression, and the harm individuals may face due to their nonconformity with socially accepted norms and advocates for strengthening professional capacities of police officers to investigate crimes on the grounds of sexual orientation (hate crimes).

Human Rights in Health Care Programs

The IPA believes that basic healthcare is a fundamental human right that should be extended to each and every member of the human family. Unfortunately, even in developed first world countries like America, this is not yet the case.

The IPA believes that improving health care is a global effort, which is more easily achieved by working with a network of collaborators. These collaborations provide the best means to extend the reach of available programs, learn from the knowledge and expertise of those in the field and support the objectives of national health systems or advocate for reform.

Collaboration is at the heart of IPA’s Human Rights in Health Care Initiative, connecting nations, partners and experts. With the help and support of its partners and collaborators, the IPA engages in campaigns, programs and advocacy to bring policy and behaviour change for better health.*

Human Rights in Education Programs

IPA recognizes the right to education as a human right.* Via its Human Rights in Education Program, the IPA also seeks to make Human Rights Education a mandatory curriculum worldwide and calls on all governments to make human rights education mandatory in schools and to conduct human rights education campaigns for all.

Accessibility to School Education

In the year 2019, an estimated 260 million children did not have access to school education on a global scale. In the 21st century, gender inequality is still an obstacle to universal access to education. Conservative attitudes towards the female gender role challenge women's and girls' ability to fully exercise their right to education. Out of 750 million illiterate adults in the world, two-thirds are estimated to be women. This is due to gender inequality, misogynistic violence, as well as, marriage and pregnancy, often associated with poverty and geographic isolation.

Equal Opportunity for Each Child

IPA invests in equal opportunity for every child and endeavors to give girls and boys a healthy start, the opportunity to learn, and protection from harm by advocating for a radically reformed educational system that is not based on nepotism, cronyism, inheritance, discrimination, privilege or unequal chances and that is available, accessible, acceptable and adaptable to all.*
